Red Yeast Rice Research
Red Yeast Rice Reboot New Research EP. 1190 MAY 2024

This research examined the effectiveness and safety of Red Yeast Rice Extract (RYR) for lowering cholesterol. They analyzed data from multiple studies and found that RYR extract significantly reduced total and LDL cholesterol levels, which are the “bad” cholesterols. The reductions were comparable to low-dose statins, medications commonly used for cholesterol control. Importantly, there was no increased risk of serious side effects. While more research is needed, this suggests RYR extract may be a safe and effective option for managing cholesterol levels.
